Up The Creek - Author - Graham Evans

 In August 2019, Graham "Taff"  Evans passed away and will be sadly missed by all that knew him, as a friend , colleague and medical branch member.

Steve Edwards wrote on FB--

It is with great sadness and deep regret I have to report that our friend and colleague,"Taff" Graham Evans crossed the bar last night. 

He lost his fight with cancer,he fought to the end. 

He was one of life / the branches nice guys.I first met him in TD summer of '73 he was a character then.

My deepest sympathy to Liz,Rhian Morgan and all the family and friends.

I did "the bump" with him more than anyone else.

You will be greatly missed my friend.

No more pain,or suffering,just pleasant dreams.

Sleep well till we meet again at the FRV.

RIP Taff.

Now all those that knew him will also know that he compiled and wrote a book called "Up The Creek" which sold quite well, so I am told. I have a copy which Graham gave me as a freebie and he said that I could post it on the RNH blog after he had sold all of his last re-write. All of which were snapped up after the last or previous reunion as far as I'm aware.

So over the next months I will post "Up The Creek" on our blog. This will not be an easy task because scanning the pages without destroying the book will not be an easy task.

A few of the Photographs remain crown copyright, so if they catch up with me, I will regrettably take down if requested. Lets live life on the edge, Graham would want it that way lol.

I did originally plan to post the book using the blog pages but over the last few days I have found that they are difficult to read and view, so I have decided to create them in a Picture Album the link of which is in the updated photos box upper rt side on this blog. Our 2020 Reunion has been cancelled.

 

The RNH Plymouth re-union due to take place on Friday 02 and Saturday 03 October 2020 has now been cancelled due to the current Covid Pandemic.

Following talks with the hotel Steve Edwards and hotel management have agreed that the reunion will not be able to take place this year.

But on the bright side, the Reunion will go ahead but next year on 8th & 9th of October 2021

We look forward to seeing you all again, same place, same time, next year.

Our condolences go to the hotel bar staff and the greatly reduced bar talkings.

ROYAL NAVAL HOSPITAL PLYMOUTH REUNION 2020

The RNH Plymouth re-union will take place on Friday 02 and Saturday 03 October 2020. 
You are invited to attend one or both evenings.

Crowne Plaza Hotel Armada Way Plymouth

The hotel is offering a rate of £120.00 per room. You must book direct with the hotel and not central booking, quoting Naval Hospital Reunion. You can also try Trivago etc. for a better deal.

Friday There will be an optional buffet 1800-1900 only, in lieu of the Pan Asia visit. Cost £18.00. The bar will then be open as for past reunions from 1900-2300.

Saturday will be the dinner and disco also in the Mariner suite.

The evening will consist of a three course meal with half a bottle of wine. 
The disco will then follow. Dress: Smart.

Timings:1900 for 2000 (please be seated by 1950) Bar closes at 2359.

Cost will be £45.00 per person of which £20.00 is a non-refundable deposit.

Deposits are required soonest to secure a place. 
Remainder by Monday 31st August 20 There will be no refund after Friday 28^th August20.

Renunion Is Looming

To all those that booked and submitted online Menu's for Steve, please check your records and make sure you have paid Steve in Full as the monies are required by the Hotel.

Looking forward to seeing you all for the 2 day bash. For those that have been before, you know you will enjoy it and to those that are attending and have not been to any of the past 12, trust me, you will enjoy it and wonder why you never came to the previous ones.

And as a footnote, when you have purchased your drinks at the back bar, go sit and chat in the main event room ( plenty of tables ). This way, I can get to the bar quicker, lol...…………..
